SECTORAL TESTSTESTS

Determination of wear resistance and scratchability

Simulation of the use of decorative coatings obtained by painting for vehicle interior components.

Test performed on painted components to simulate wear on a daily basis. The test exaggerates the conditions of use, maximizing the wear of the piece. It will therefore be possible to evaluate the piece both from an aesthetic point of view, through visual and gloss analysis, and from a functional level.

The tests can be multiple. A test can be carried out using an automatic system, using the felt or manually using a special abrasive paper, soaked or not in cleaning liquids such as denatured alcohol.

It is also possible to simulate the scratchability caused by rings, keys or nails, using an instrument called “five finger” in which tests can be performed with heads of different sizes and geometries (1 or 6mm) and with variable application forces.
