SECTORAL TESTSTESTS

Paint adhesion test by cross-cutting

Evaluation of the adhesion of the paint to the substrate or between the layers of the same.

Test performed on painted components, able to evaluate the adhesion of the paint to the substrate or between the various components of the same.

Aesthetic and functional test useful for identifying paint defects when new and after aging such as immersion in a thermostatic bath, aging in humidity, aging in sunlight and in salt spray.

The test can give a positive result, if there is no detachment of any “square” of the figure:

Or negative, with the detachment of several “squares” at a time.

Squaring knives or squaring jigs with a standardized cutter can be used.
