The laboratory is also able to perform thickness measurements on galvanized coatings using the coulometric or anodic degalvanization technique.
This technique is able to measure each layer, removing it without affecting the substrate which can be steel or non-ferrous metals.
Through the use of a series of chemical attacking agents, it is possible to gradually consume each layer of the material and the distance that the tip travels will therefore be measured as the thickness of the layer itself.
