CONTROL PLAST-TEST PROJECT
The CONTROL PLAST-TEST project concluded in June with the final scheduled functionality tests.
A total investment of €86,500 was supported by the Piedmont Region’s financial institution FINPIEMONTE, 80% of which was subsidized financing and 10% of the project funded by a non-repayable grant.
The project was requested by the Plastlab Consortium to adapt and generate improvements in performance related to the simulation of weathering of plastic components using a dedicated climate chamber, and to the acquisition of a water purification and recycling system, also aimed at reducing water use by 50%, which affected all equipment dedicated to accelerated weathering.

The project was funded by the F.E.S.R. Regional Program 2021/2027 under the Digitalization and Productive Efficiency of Enterprises – LINE B call (Action I.iii.1 “Support for the competitiveness and sustainable transition of the regional production system”).
The intervention supported by the Plastlab Consortium is extremely innovative and allows companies to receive a qualitatively incentivized service.
In addition to recycling the water, the GRUENBECK water purification system through filters re-determines purity of up to 0.02 microsimmens, as required by the tests, while also checking consumption parameters based on the type of standard to be followed. The intervention is part of a broader Plastlab vision to initiate a process in the near future aimed at better use of resources aimed at energy savings.
