Mechanical test which includes falling from a height of a dart with a defined weight.
The test is performed by impacting a defined potential energy with a dart of standard dimensions. Essentially performed to evaluate failure of plastic substrates or more in detail if cracks or cracks occur on organic coatings, eg painted components.
This is an easy and fast test, for which flat plates are required.
Generally required in material characterization sheets at sectoral level, for example for the automotive industry.
